If you only meet the minimum skill requirements (e.g., level 4 in metalworking and level 1 in mechanical), you can craft the parts, but not at full condition. To achieve the best quality, it is recommended that you upgrade your skills. In most recipes, the condition of the parts is influenced by both your Metalworking and Mechanical skills. This approach was implemented to ensure that advanced parts are only available to those with the required skill level, while still allowing any item to be crafted. Specifically, if your level is between 3 and 5, you can craft the old variant, if it's between 6 and 8, you can craft the regular variant, and if it's 9 or 10, you can craft the performance variant. ![]() To determine the type of item variant (old, regular, performance), your Mechanical skill level is important.

![]() ![]() Over time, meanders become larger and more visible.Įventually meanders turn into oxbow lakes when two outside bends erode together making a shorter route for the water. Established analytical models of river evolution with increasing sinuosity generate river planimetry with statistical properties equivalent to real-world meanders Camporeale et al., 2005 Ikeda et al., 1981 Johannesson and Parker, 1989 Sun et al., 1996, where sinuosity is the quotient of river distance and valley distance. The slower water drops sediment.Ĭontinuous erosion on the outer bank and deposition on the inner bank will expand the bend in the river. The river flows more slowly on the inside of the river beach. The river flows faster on the outside of a curve, and the fast water erodes the outside bends of a river channel by hydraulic action and abrasion. The maps produced by Fisk (1944) are the basis for reconstruction of 16 stages of Mississippi River migration. There are areas of slower and faster water movement. Further downstream in the Mississippi River Valley, we employed the methods and results of Fisk (1944) to reconstruct channel migration patterns at Helena, Arkansas. Meanders were named for a river in Anatolia.Ī river rarely flows in a straight line: it bends around because it drops sediment where it flows most slowly. The position of the curves changes over time. Meanders form a snake-like pattern as the river flows across a fairly flat valley floor.

So, trying something like this is going to get you insane (Sometimes unsafe) results. They are made with different materials and compatibility. Even with some kind of similar background, the batteries are actually pretty different. So, there might be chances that you can try interchanging.īut the point isn’t so simple. We all got to know that these both brands actually come from some family relationship. I know, this is a common question because of some obvious reasons. The Truth Behind Such Replacement (Breaking Down Gradually)! Are They Interchangeable? That brings us to our today’s hot question, are DeWalt 20v batteries interchangeable with black and decker? So, you might want to use it for other brand tools as well. It goes well with rugged usage and for moderate power, the choice is perfect. The slider battery is excellent for portability. Along with that platform, their original hit was 20-volt MAX style. It was usable for saw, compressors and also low power tools. The first ever multi-power battery system was this platform and so, it got quite hyped that time. They came up within an extremely popular FlexVolt platform since then. Kinda like the gig they had selling rebadged Ryobi as Craftsman C3 - if they didn't do it, Sears would have just found someone else to make Craftsman power tools (Chervon didn't waste any time sliding in when the TTI/Sears relationship soured). If you are not an update keeper of DeWalt then let me tell, they started their cordless power tool line on the 2016 year. Walmart would never have signed on for a similar deal, and if TTI didn't sell power tools to Walmart, someone else would have. Selling Hart to Walmart generates revenue, and doesn't threaten the Home Depot/Ryobi exclusivity benefits. All direct competition in the same store. Using Lowe's as an example, if TTI started marketing Ryobi in Lowe's stores, Ryobi would be positioned against Craftsman, Porter-Cable and Kobalt. It's a typical "good/better/best" positioning, and at that level, Ryobi has no competition inside Home Depot. Market positioning puts Ryobi at the "bottom", with a step-up to Ridgid, and Milwaukee/DeWalt at the high-end (with Makita and Bosch positioned anywhere from Ridgid to the top). Home Depot sells Ryobi, Ridgid, Milwaukee, DeWalt, Makita and Bosch. because inside Home Depot, there's no other brand positioned against them. Ryobi has no competition, inside of Home Depot, with similarly market positioned tools. "Ultimately, why would TTI want to compete against similarly market-positioned tools in same-store stuff?" Selling Ryobi outside of Home Depot just hurts the market they've crafted with Home Depot, and encourages Home Depot to carry other similarly market-positioned competition.įunny - I missed the part where Home Depot is selling Hart, and Walmart is selling Ryobi. Ultimately, why would TTI want to compete against similarly market-positioned tools in same-store stuff? They don't have any positional competition in Home Depot, and HD is a nationwide retail and Internet chain. Home Depot markets Ryobi to the consumer far more than they do Ridgid, so I'd argue that Ryobi is more of their "house brand" of power tools than Ridgid is. The Ridgid brand is licensed to TTI from Emerson, and TTI sells it through Home Depot, likely part of another exclusivity agreement. Likewise, Home Depot owns no part of Ridgid. TTI "owns" Ryobi (perpetual license for the brand name) in the US market, European market, Oceania market and (Southern?) African market. A complementary benefit to that agreement is that Home Depot is the exclusive "big box" retailer of it's type to sell Milwaukee. TTI has an exclusivity agreement with Home Depot in the USA for the Ryobi brand. Ryobi is in no part, no way, owned by Home Depot. ![]() ![]() ![]() Screwing a Platy into the filter could be bad for long term life of filter's threads. In the photo at left, the blue bag is the Sawyer, and the white one is a Platy. Next I tested the compatibility of my 1L Platypus "Bottles." They seemed to screw in fine, but on closer inspection, the threads don't match. Someone suggested creating an adapter to allow use of the squeeze bag for back-flushing. I'm unlikely to hike 5-6 days without the ability to effectively back flush. If I put the 33g/1.16oz syringe in a bounce box, the total Sawyer system is cut down to 157g/5.54oz. My Aquamira water purification system includes the two bottles at 84g (full, w/o mixing cap), my premix bottle at 7g, and two platys at 35g ea, for 161g/5.68oz. My whole Sawyer-based water filtration system (filter, squeeze bag, Platy & syringe) now weighs 190g/6.70oz. The Sawyer Squeeze bag weighs 27g vs 35g for my platy, and I can leave one platy behind for an 8g saving. After filtering, when I shake excess water out of the filter, it weighs 95g/3.35 ozs. So I took a look at my total water purification system's field weight. ( Update) In discussions here (thanks Hiking Dude), and on WhiteBlaze forums, it was noted that the Squeeze bag is significantly lighter than my Platys, and can certainly replace one when greater water hauling capacity is needed. However, except on the first day of a hike, no one is going to put this filter in their pack dry, and I'm planning a longer hike in which I need to provide for effective back flush. ![]() For any system, drops or tablets included, you need some type of water bottle, so that is not part of the filter's field weight." He may be suggesting that you can attach a bottle to the input side, and drink directly from the filter - A valid and lightweight configuration. Ron at MLD told me "The filter dry by itself is 2.5 oz, that's the field weight. After backflushing the filter and letting it drain, the filter weighed 3.63 ozs alone, and the entire system weighed 5.75. I weighed the system on my scale and found it to be 4.75 ozs dry. I'm not sure how Sawyer defines that, but the filter and bag seems minimum, and the instructions admonish the owner to pack the syringe to avoid problems. The box says "total field weight" is 3 ozs. In the box is the filter, a 1L squeeze bag and a 60CC syringe to backflush the filter. That addressed my biggest concern, and pushed the button. Ron at Mountain Laurel Designs recently posted that the 2013 version includes a new, improved, "super tough" 1L water bladder. I had also read that Platypus Bottle threads didn't fit into the input side - leaving out my current inventory as possible backups to a failed squeeze bag. Fortunately, the threads are pretty standard, and I saw other bladders and even a big Mountain Dew bottle employed as a squeezable source. I saw a lot of rigs requiring judicial uses of duct tape. The supplied squeeze bag had a reputation for bursting, forcing hikers to improvise on the trail. Sawyer Squeeze vs Aquamira after the break. With an advertised 3 oz field weight, I was pretty excited about them, and I vowed to look into them when I got home. They squeezed into water bottles, they placed them in-line with their pack's bladder system, and they set up gravity systems to work while they ate. Folks used different bags and bottles to feed them. Later in the season, I started seeing these Sawyer Squeeze filters. ![]() On the other hand, it seemed a shame to bespoil pure mountain spring water with it, and treating nasty tasting, tannin-stained water out of slow-moving streams made me pine for a filter.
